BiographyRead Angela's facts

A native of Prince George, British Columbia, Angela ran track and field as a youth. She received a full athletic scholarship to the University of Missouri, where she added swimming and cycling to her hobbies. She ventured into triathlon in 2007 as an age-grouper. She won her first age-group Olympic-distance race that year, all the while working full time as a pediatric physical therapist.

In the winter of 2008, Angela attended a training camp hosted by Chuckie V. With his guidance, Angela decided to become a full-time athlete and turn pro. That July, she won her first professional race at the Boulder Peak Olympic-distance triathlon. Six days later, she placed first at the Sylvan Lake Half-Ironman. As a rookie that year she finished in the top 10 at the 70.3 World Championships, placing 8th overall.

In 2009 she was invited to attend the prestigious Team TBB, to train under Brett Sutton’s direction, but quickly became injured and missed out on the entire year of competition. However, in 2010, after returning to her previous coach, Angela stormed back to the racing circuit. She raced 10 half-Ironmans this past year, finishing 2nd in six 70.3 events, 7th at the 70.3 World Championships, and won the SuperFrog Half-Ironman in early spring. In her 14 races of 2010, Angela recorded the fastest bike split in more than half of them.

Angela holds a master’s degree in physical therapy, and, between training and racing, works as a physiotherapist and a coach.

In 2011 Angela will be racing at the Rev3 series, Wildflower, and multiple Ironman 70.3s. The epic bike course for the 70.3 World Championships and Long-Distance ITU World Championships will work in her favor to achieving a top podium spot!
